Very Victorian Afghan

Here is a picture of my completed Very Victorian Afghan. The pattern called for a ribbon but I really didn't like the way it looked once I had added it ..... so I took it out.

I made this holding 2 strands of yarn although the pattern didn't call for it. I'm very pleased with the result.

This was made with Caron Simply Soft. The color is called Off White but I really think they should call it something like Soft Ivory. It's such a delicate color. I love it but looking through some of my pics I realized I've used it a lot and really need to to get some color in my projects.

This will be a gift to a friend who will be giving birth to her first baby in June. Wow! I'm way ahead on this one!

  1. Really pretty afghan! You're right it definitely shouldn't be called off white.

  2. Barb,
Great to see you guys. Mitchell seems to be doing well and it's great having him at the church. If he would learn to hang around a little longer after services he would get some more free meals. lol. Praying for ya'll and your building program.

  3. Hello, I started this afghan almost a year ago, and I have long since lost the pattern.... It's pathetic. But I was wondering if you knew where to get the pattern? I started it with my grandmother, and she moved away, taking the pattern with her. I had a copy, but as I said, it is lost. I feel bad asking, but I thought you might know.
    Thank you very much,

  4. Hi! The pattern can be found in "Leisure Arts #3014, Our Best Afghans A to Z". You can find the book on ebay or Amazon very reasonably. It also happens to have some other great patterns as well.

  5. I am currently working on this pattern myself for our first baby :) This is my first time working on the scalloped edging and I'm so lost!! If you still have the pattern book, do you mind taking a look and see if you could help me out? I'm stuck on the 2nd row of the top-first scallop of the edging. My email is, if you can shoot me an email, I can get into more detail.

    Thanks!! Great finished project!!
